Lillian Easterly-Smith’s journey is one of unexpected impact. Birthed from her own recovery from alcohol use and multiple addictions, her passion to help others find true healing has become life’s purpose.

Lillian’s journey found her at the helm of two major non-profit organizations. She has authored multiple recovery curriculums and co-authored several other books along with a fairly recent book with her husband and ministry partner, Mike Smith. She has achieved international acclaim in the world of pastoral care and counseling; and remains an in-demand keynote speaker. Her frustration over the years caused her and Mike to pursue certifications in Lifestyle coaching (health & wellness) and become a fitness instructor to promote a holistic approach to recovery and overall health and healing.

With 30+ years of experience as a practicing out-patient counselor and therapist, she claims that nearly every person struggling with substance abuse is masking hidden pain, false beliefs and trauma, adding, “Recovery centers are masterful at teaching people to avoid their drug of choice or compulsive behavior. Instead, we find people replacing their substance abuse problems with switching addictions or doing more of what they are already doing, such as gambling, cigarettes, sex, food. Removing the addictive substance or behavior is only the first step. We need to treat the whole person.”
